It is not uncommon for anyone with mental illness

Most state run agencies will not allow people or employees
to talk about God because their grounds are
“neutral territory.” What does this sound like?

Why The Church Should Open Its Doors
To Those With Mental Disease
“Whatever you do unto the least of these,
you do unto me.”
The most important reason is it goes back to the Great Commission . Second to this, Jesus set the example on how churches should operate. Jesus trusted that his command to make disciples of all humankind would be understood and not open for debate.
People with mental disease are the most neglected of all medical conditions in society. They are also the victims of myths and misconceptions , most which have been disproved by well known experts.
More and more law enforcement agencies create SWAT like units to respond to problems with the mentally ill as if dealing with a hostage situation or a terrorist threat. Law enforcement agencies are taught to respond with violence toward people with mental illness. Most of the reasoning is based on the myth that those with mental illness are a danger to society.
Many state run agencies lose funding every year and have to turn people away who need help. Additionally, their funding is conditional. It is not uncommon for anyone with mental illness who professes a faith in God to be considered delusional. Even Schizophrenic. Most state run agencies will not allow people or employees to talk about God because their grounds are neutral territory. What does this sound like?
People with mental disease do not enjoy the same basic rights as everyone else such as justice and fair treatment. It is not uncommon for them to lack a support network in times of crisis. It isn’t uncommon for them to lack support from even their own families. Let my argument start here.
Jesus taught whatever we do to the least of these, we do to him. If churches are owned and operated by what the rest of society does, it is easy to fail at carrying out the Great Commission. Churches send Missionaries to foreign lands, donate to homeless shelters, however, people with mental illness (who) need help, are just out of luck. It must break Jesus’ heart to see people with mental illness so blatantly ignored.
There is only the example of Jesus and the types of people he was around. He ministered to crowds of people and healed them of all disease. Jesus specifically sent his disciples out to heal people of disease. In a sense, by reaching out to people with mental disease, there is healing in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
