The Daily Walk with Love
— The Two Wolves Inside Each of us
is not original to The Daily Walk, although the wording
is my own. Here is some original, magical Cherokee folk
wisdom, passed down through the generations, from father
(or grandfather) to child. I came across this while writing
for another website I used to own, Evans Politics. I am not
sure, but I think it might be among the several public domain stories-articles from Dr. Len Kempo’s website.
See if maybe, since it is memorable, you might want to
to re-tell this wonderful storie to your child.

The boy sat on his father’s lap, very attentive, for he had come to appreciate and look forward to this special time his dad gave him many evenings.
“Son, here is some old Cherokee (Native American) wisdom, which my own father helped me with when I was about your age. Here is the little story — it is really very simple, but I believe it could help a lot of people.
“There are two wolves inside each of us. One is hatred, envy, greed, a lying tongue, really, everything that is evil and wicked. The other is kindness, generousity, joy and love, honesty and sincerity, and everything that is good and decent. [(Paul: and you will see this no matter what cultural tradition you are born into.)]
“The little boy looked up at his dad and asked, ‘well, which one wins?‘
The boy’s dad answered, his voice strong, almost impassioned, “The one you feed.“
Don’t let your fears come into existence; don’t dote on your fears, you invite them into your life. It’s a question of the Law of Attraction. 2 Timothy 1:7. Be disciplined in your thought life. Activate your faith, not your fears!
