‘The Doobie Brothers’ self-titled album came out in 1971;
it was their first studio album and it’s only 35:38. It’s not quite
as ‘flashy’ and a little quieter than their really big
hit albums which followed. So it’s understated but sounds great
and is pleasant to listen to. If you like the Doobie Brothers, you
may be surprised that you never heard this music before but it’s very worthwhile.

The Doobie Brothers – 1971
(full album)

Quiet, Cool Doobie Brothers from 1971

The Daily Walk with Love, republished November 8, 2017, by Paul Evans, (email paul.miracles57@gmail.com), main music video is “The Doobie Brothers”, their early offering from 1971, courtesy of Warner Brothers and YouTube.

The Daily Bible Verse for March 25, 2017 from The Official King James Bible Online (date of original publication) was John 15:20 (with context provided) – “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

“The Doobie Brothers” came out in 1971; it was their first studio album and it’s only 35:38. It’s not quite as “flashy” and a little quieter than their really hit albums which followed. Few people, actually, know about it but it is a real gem. We won’t burden you with (many) links or descriptions, let’s “listen to the music.” The Doobie Brothers at this time had most of their original personnel: (Tom Johnston – guitars, vocals; Patrick Simmons – guitars, vocals; Jeff “Skunk” Baxter – guitar, steel guitar; Tiran Porter – bass, vocals; John Hartman – drums; and Keith Knudsen – drums, vocals). Also see The Doobie Brothers Toulouse Street (1972) right here on The Daily Walk with Miracles. Featured graphic image courtesy of www.YouTube.com.

A Treat for you would be to also watch Doobie Brothers Chicago 1977 Full Concert, RockItNowAlready and YouTube – 58:06, which has some great commentary in an interview with the band, and also watch our own Full Album: The Doobie Brothers – Toulouse Street (1972), (The Daily Walk with Miracles, courtesy of YouTube, August 16, 2016). I can still remember the quizzical look my dad gave me when I was in high school and I brought THAT album home and played it. Another great Doobies album we have published is a later effort, Stampede, which I think you’re really enjoy as much as any of their great, classic rock hits. This is well known stuff to rock aficionados. Rock On, people!
