There is definitely an “occult” or better,
an “esoteric” influence in modern rock ‘n’ roll.
(The word ‘occult,’ as originally used for such phenomena
in the early 19th century, had NO connotation
of ‘good’ or ‘evil,’ it simply meant ‘hidden’ or ‘secret.’)
STOP judging each other and love one another!

The Daily Walk with Miracles, republished June 5, 2017, by Paul Evans, with the spiritual assistance of “the Yuhanick clan,” video is Rainbow – Long Live Rock N’ Roll (Full Album, 1978), MyMetallicaMaster & YouTube – 39:40. Most of the article text here is taken from my Facebook page: Let’s be Facebook friends!
See “One World”, The Daily Walk with Miracles, March 28, 2017, by Paul Evans: “I have faith that the world is coming together, gradually and painfully, towards a new global consciousness and that we are becoming One with each other (in a spiritual sense, this is not a political conception). May it be, and Amen.”

There is definitely an “occult” or better, an “esoteric” influence in modern rock ‘n’ roll. (The word “occult,” as originally used for such phenomena in the early 19th century, had NO connotation of “good” or “evil,” it simply meant “hidden” or “secret,” much as we use the word “esoteric” today.) But I if take the people I have known in my life, I see that MOST OF US should NOT be taken with the “black or white” or “Yes or No” “Christian or Satanic” mindset which fundamentalists have. It is NOT just “yes or no,” it is mostly SHADES OF GRAY isn’t it? We are all admixtures of black and white (good and evil) which amounts to some various basic shade of gray, aren’t we. Remember that He said, “for none is righteous. No. Not One.” And Paul said, “if I say I am without sin, the truth is not in me.” Our Saviour said, “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
My dad and other more liberal theologians have found themselves persecuted for the whole “shades of gray” ideas and mindset. However I do realize that as we get older, we generally line up on one side or the other. But believe me, because I have learned this in life, a “yes” or “no” question deserves a “yes” or “no” answer. And some things ARE black and white, plainly. Yet even more than this, it is sometimes not only NOT black or white, A. or B., a multiple choice question often has answers of, occasionally, percent A, B. C. and/or D. But usually a question has a right answer and a wrong answer, and often a “yes” or “no” or “I don’t know” answer. Part of the trouble in good communication is that most people do not really “speak the same language,” especially people from different walks of life.
YOU KNOW this is true from your experience with computers. There is the Right Way, one or More Wrong ways, the Microsoft Way, and the usual Workaround…. Sometimes it’s easy too to put us into some label or pigeonholes, but I know that I, and the people I know and have known, are NOT labels, we are ALL PEOPLE OF WORTH, CHILDREN OF GOD. As the Bible says, “God is no respecter of persons.” I don’t think that there are that many people in hell, really. I KNOW we shouldn’t judge each other.
It doesn’t matter what drugs we do or what drinks we take or anything else that hinders us in life, Including how smart we are or aren’t, we all are PEOPLE OF WORTH before God. And also, the barbaric and medieval criminalization of addictions must end if we are to call ourselves a civilized or Christian society! Most drugs are evil, but still should not be criminalized as the addiction is not anyone’s fault and usually has a very difficult, problematical solution. Four more states have legalized marijuana and eventual legalization nationwide is inevitable. Weed is NOT a drug anyway but a healthful herb: see Genesis 1:29-31. A “drug” is something synthetically (chemically) produced, and we know of the evil of most of them. But statistics speak volumes that, for example, Cannabis users have very few of the problems associated with, even, alcohol use. Alcohol is itself is the “gateway” drug (not “weed”) and leads to many bad addictions. I wish society would get this straight. 2004: deaths from alcohol – 44,000; deaths from weed: 19, all Cannabis and something else. There has never been a single documented case of weed alone causing a single death.
What many people object to in Rainbow’s music (if you listen to the lyrics) and other classic rockers, quite a few of which we blog right here, is that there is a equation made between drug use and the Satanic. This is dead wrong, but it IS understandable in terms of the way drug use and addiction are demonized and punished by our society, quite wrongly I believe. As a mentally ill person I have felt the same stigma and evil attached to me, but because I am mentally ill, or because I advocate legalization of Cannabis and decriminalization of other drugs, so that many of you believe there MUST necessarily be some great evil attached to me. This is why sociologists have found that mental patients and drug users (I do not use drugs) are society’s scapegoats. I have suffered hugely in my life and even died once because of this, may God forgive you for doing it all to me, but I am a decent Christian man, as are MOST of the mentally ill and even most addicts. It is dead wrong to demonize and stigmatize a person because of some label you can attach to him. Really it is evil, and you are playing Satan’s game.
STOP JUDGING PEOPLE AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF! God Bless you ALL! Amen. And Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll!!
