The Daily Walk with Love
— The Moody Blues are an English rock band. They first
came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music but soon
switched their whole style over to the (mostly)
easy-going progressive rock which is a sort of fusion of
easy-going classic rock and progressive rock with
a touch of classical influence. They have a nice sound
that the listener never grows tired of, but
sometimes it’s quite profound. I call it
“Easy Listening Rock with the Universe in it.”
I’m sure everyone’s heard “the Moodies” on the radio, too.

(originally published October 05, 2016, but I frequently republish this playlist, maybe just because it’s a really good sound — a special sound that I like a LOT.) This is the most popular of our several Moody Blues video playlists here on The Daily Walk with Love, too! So far, this is my favorite playlist by the Moody Blues, and the “title” song (if you will) really speaks to me: sometimes it seems God asks so much of me, I don’t mean the things that I have suffered, but it’s a hard responsibility to try to be aware of “the Truth” about various religious and theological questions and then to discuss them intelligently with my readers. So “don’t ask me, I’m just a singer in a rock ‘n’ roll band” resonates, LOL. It’s easy to follow doctrine, but I don’t trust doctrine, it’s like “the yeast of thee Pharisees.” Doctrine is what divides the church, we need to have a society where people live much more as Jesus taught, plain and simple, that’s how it seems to me. Kindness, mercy and truth are my own words to live by (Proverbs 3:3). Since I have no sort of training in theology, I strongly hope you all take my writings here much more as “explorations” through the lens of comparative religion, than as any kind of definitive “truth.”
Check out Matthew 19:1-15; Numbers 9-10; Ecclesiastes 7 NIV. I know this seems far from “the other side of life” out there on the streets or sharing some sort of shabby apartment (hey, I can only afford to rent a room), but the Holy Word of God can and does accomplish miracles in a lot of people’s lives. And God’s Grace is a free gift. But you can ALWAYS follow the Golden Rule and try to be kind whenever you can (whenever circumstances allow). Loving God IS loving your neighbor as yourself, and if you don’t try to be CARING, you do offend God. Don’t be hypocrites out there, OK, and God Bless you all. Amen.

See Wikipedia on The Moody Blues:
‘The Moody Blues are an English rock band. They first came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music, but their second album, Days of Future Passed, which was released in 1967, was a fusion of rock with classical music and established them as pioneers in the development of progressive rock. They became known internationally with singles including “Go Now”, “Nights in White Satin”, “Tuesday Afternoon” and “Question”. They have been awarded 18 platinum and gold discs. Their album sales total 70 million.
‘As of 2015 they remain active with one member from the original 1964 band (drummer Graeme Edge) and two more from the 1966 lineup (bassist John Lodge and lead singer and guitarist Justin Hayward).’
