— Over the years, Mike Oldfield must have made 8 or 10
versions of Tubular Bells. Here we present to you the first version,
from 1973, a remastered BBC track, in all it’s complexity and beauty.
Are you into music that’s different, that
is hardly able to be classified? Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells
is just what the doctor ordered.

Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells
(1973 BBC sessions)

You may end up questioning Oldfield’s beliefs,
but certainly not his creativity and genius

The Daily Walk with Love, February 17, 2018. Featured photograph courtesy of the Official Mike Oldfield Facebook page. Mike has a new album out late 2017 called “Return to Ommadawn.” Have a look at Mike Oldfield’s music on Amazon.com, available on CD or high quality 256kbs .mp3 tracks and albums. Once you buy music on Amazon, copies are always available for re-download, even if your computer “dies” on you.

You may wish to listen to Tubular Bells part 2 on YouTube — 23:19. I will comment that this recording of Tubular Bells (the 1973 so-called original version) from sessions at the BBC does sound quite a lot different from the CD (of the same year, 1973) which I used to own, but it’s sure worth listening to. Has anyone else who is a regular listener at YouTube noticed that the music (songs or even whole albums) sometimes changes subtly each time you listen to it? Maybe this is the artificial intelligence at work?

Also, watch Emerson, Lake and Palmer perform the Aaron Copeland classic, Fanfare for the Common Man.
