Here Are Four by One of
the Best British Singers Ever, Sting

Better Known as the lead singer of The Police,
Sting has had a distinguished solo career

Free Music57, February 12, 2015, selections by Paul Evans courtesy of Sting, VEVO and YouTube. I had a CD of Sting’s greatest hits before all my CD’s were sold off by a heroin junkie back in about 2011. The man has a conscience, and seems at the same time to be tied in to the “ways of power.” You may recall that Sting was the lead singer in the very popular group The Police. Except for one of my favorite songs, Synchronicity, I actually prefer the music of Sting’s solo career over his work with The Police. Here is what Wikipedia has to say about Sting:

“Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner CBE (born 2 October 1951), known on stage as Sting, is an English musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, activist, actor and philanthropist. He was principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for the new wave rock band The Police before a solo career.

“He has included rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age and worldbeat in his music. As a solo musician and a member of The Police, he received 16 Grammy Awards, his first for best rock instrumental in 1980, three Brit Awards, including Best British Male in 1994 and Outstanding Contribution in 2002, a Golden Globe award, an Emmy Award, and three Academy Award nominations for Best Original Song. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Police in 2003. In 2000, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for recording. In 2003, Sting received a CBE from Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace for services to music, and was made a Kennedy Center Honoree at the White House in 2014.”

Watch a full album of Sting’s greatest hits on YouTube, Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984-1994 (International Edition Full Album) — 1:15:54.

The song “Sacred Love” is one of Sting’s newer songs. The other three Sting selections are short songs that many of you might recognize. “Fields of Gold” is especially dedicated to a caring woman I hope for the future might come into my life and love me for who I am.
