Don’t Miss God’s Will for your Life:
Read Your Bible
Turn On to God’s Love
The Daily Walk with Miracles, September 11, 2016, by Paul Evans. Featured video is a Beatles playlist based on Strawberry Fields Forever. Excerpt is from Can You Miss God’s Will for Your Life? courtesy of Bible Study Tools.com. Paul Evans: I made the mistake all my life of ignorance of the power of the Bible and the very real help God’s Word can give. I am spiritually gifted, and have suffered a lot because of it, both because it involved a lot of “autistic” behavior, but also because of attacks on me by evil forces and people. I found that the Bible truly does offer good help and protection in our lives, even if we are not spiritually gifted, I truly believe. Try it! Visit The Official King James Bible online, maybe turn on some good Christian music on YouTube, you will be greatly aided in your life. Remember that of course God answers all unselfish prayers, but that He does this in His own good time, and in the way He knows is best for you, which is not necessarily exactly what you hoped for. God Bless you all!
While I am a member of the United Church of Christ, I mostly attend church here in my local community. My church, here in Overton northwest of Wooster, the Overton Community Church, offers a weekly Bible verse. This week’s verses were such that I found them very helpful to my actual physical and spiritual well-being, so I want to republish them here. The verses, taken from The Official King James Bible Online are Psalms 54: 1-5:
Psalm 54: 1 — (To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?) Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.
2. — Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
3. — For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.
4. — Behold, God [is] mine helper: the Lord [is] with them that uphold my soul.
5. — He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
The way to miss God’s will is really simple: ignore the Bible. In the Bible God has told us exactly what we should do when it comes to making decisions. First, we should determine if our decision goes against anything clearly spelled out in the Bible. The Bible is clear that fellowship with other believers is necessary for our Christian growth. If taking a job will cut you off from fellowship with others, it’s not God’s will for you to take the job.
Second, we should ask God to give us wisdom. James 1:5–6 says:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting…
