Climate Change: a Real Issue
Not Addressed by Hillary or Donald Trump
186 Countries Agree:
Global Warming is Real and We
Have to Do Something About It
The Daily Walk with Miracles, updated July 5, 2016, by Paul Evans, with sources of Climate change: the missing issue of the 2016 campaign, The Gaurdian, July 5, 2016, by Ed Pilkington and Mona Chalabi, and main content from Global Warming: What is the Truth & What Can We Do?, The Daily Walk with Miracles, March 24, 2016, by Paul Evans:
From today’s Guardian:
“The race for the White House is failing to grapple with the key issues of the day, especially the urgent need to combat climate change before atmospheric changes become irreversible, a slice of the American electorate believes.”
From The Daily Walk with Miracles, with main sources of Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift Within Decades, Not Centuries, The New York Times, March 22, 2016, by Justin Gillis; and How to End Global Warming, The Daily Walk with Miracles, March 22, 2016, by Paul Evans, with the spiritual assistance of Dan Hershberger:
Like a lot of people, I’ve struggled with the whole issue of global warming and have had a hard time understanding and knowing just what the truth is. “They” say that 10 of the 12 warmest years on record have been in the last 15 years. That’s a little scary, but it’s important to realize that these temperature records only go back a few hundred years. Measuring “paleo-temperature” (paleo-climate, reconstructing what ancient climate was like), from the past could be done using ice cores or even tree rings (dendrology), and I’m sure quite a lot of work has been done on that. The purpose here is only to give the reader a “news flash” about just how bad it seems to be getting, and it has been a VERY warm winter here in Ohio, for what it’s worth. Then I want to give you my ideas on how to lower earth’s temperature. As always, this begins like any change, with each of us.
The nations of the world agreed years ago to try to limit global warming to a level they hoped would prove somewhat tolerable. But leading climate scientists warned on Tuesday that permitting a warming of that magnitude would actually be quite dangerous.
The likely consequences would include killer storms stronger than any in modern times, the disintegration of large parts of the polar ice sheets and a rise of the sea sufficient to begin drowning the world’s coastal cities before the end of this century, the scientists declared.
“We’re in danger of handing young people a situation that’s out of their control,” said James E. Hansen, the retired NASA climate scientist who led the new research. The findings were released Tuesday morning by a European science journal, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics.

End Global Warming
See How to End Global Warming, March 22,2016, by Paul Evans with Dan Hershberger.
“In wilderness is the preservation of the world.” (~ Henry David Thoreau) Want to fix global warming? In New England 25 years ago it was very hot. New England then was 25 percent forested. Now New England is 43 percent forested and last winter they had to spend $60 billion on salt and road work (it got colder there). So, to fix global warming, just plant a bunch of trees, maybe pine trees, which grow quickly. This also keeps the air clean. Did you know that fully one-quarter of global warming is from the use of styrofoam, which lasts 150 years in the environment?
“The best time to plant a tree is always 20 years ago. The next-best time is always today.” ~ Old Chinese Proverb.
