What It Means to Me to Be a Christian

by The Daily Walk with Love — Just wanted to let everyone know — Here is what it means to me, Paul Evans, (the owner here), to be a Christian. Maybe there has been speculation: I know that my own faith journey has been difficult. This is the distilled thought of a 38 years long Read More …

Paul Evans: Who I Am & What I Believe In (Really)

Revised: People never cease to amaze me with how intolerant and judgmental they are towards their fellow man (and I’m like anyone else, it really hurts me). But, right here at the beginning of this article, let me make it perfectly clear to everyone: I’m not Communist, I’m not even socialist, I’m not neo-nazi, nor am I ultra-right wing. I am “Truth, Justice, the American way, AND reform.” I am for rationally addressing the terrible issues America faces, and doing so truthfully, pragmatically and practically. Here is what I believe and what I stand for, after ten years of blogging for the common man and a better, more caring, sharing society. Read More …

Addiction Part 2: Weed – Is Marijuana Healthy or Harmful?

Marijuana, correctly called Cannabis, is a basically harmless and in some situations very healthful, helpful green herb which admittedly is strongly psychotropic. Both modern medicine and The Bible support legalization and it remains illegal only because Big Pharma, the mob, the private prison industry and the street gangs make money off of its illegality. Life as Sacred and IR vs. UV Light

I have always thought that not enough attention was paid to the Holiness o;f Life, and believe we are doing a poor job of “the stewardship of the land. After a 40 years long reading and writing about comparative religion, this article well sums up my conclusions to this point. Some of this thinking is quite new to me, so I incorporated the new ideas into a new, hopefully better summary article, which, I nonetheless believe, is also firmly grounded in science. If nothing else, even if you don’t usually concern yourself with religion, I believe that you will find this article interesting, and maybe empowering. Read More …

Miles Davis – In a Silent Way – 1969

A U.S. Alliance with Russia Makes Sense in terms of Money And Foreign Policy

by The Daily Walk with Love — Hey Pentagon, Hey CIA!! Why are we now in a situation with Russia so hostile and confrontational? Why have we forced the “Shanghai Cooperative” of forty nations into such an oppositional stance rather than allow the Cold War to die a quiet death, as it should have decades Read More …

Sexy New Age Mix: 3rd Force – “You Gotta Be Real”

The Dawning of the New Age: This is still a New Age, and this does not necessarily have to be hostile to Christians at all. Let the Illuminati be dominant if they are leading us into the future. Their fixation on the goddess Athena is NOT the same thing as worshiping the devil, which is a fully different deity, and many of them are into the whole “earth worship” thing,… did not the Bible say “God is Life?” We must love ALL our neighbors with toleration and even acceptance as the world and all of our subcultures are drawn together into One World. Pope Francis: “Helping the Poor Isn’t Communism, It’s Gospel”

I always felt the disapproval of so many fellow conservatives/Christians because of my strong hope that we will be our brother’s keeper, even if this involves a certain amount of economic redistributionism. I feel somewhat vindicated and defended by some of Pope Francis’ recent statements. But even the founder of modern capitalist theory, Adam Smith, favored a graduated income tax (Wealth of Nations, 1776). Read More …

Of Machines, of Men and of Co-evolution

The “technological singularity” (as computers and machines actually become smarter than men are) progresses. Google’s CEO, one of the originators of the whole idea, said that he expected it around 2040. At such, I almost scoff, believing as I do that this actually happened with Windows 8.0 (by a couple of clues), and certainly has been growing strongly in its reach during the reign of Windows 10, (and the control of computers, virtual assistants and robots over our lives). I am in as much a condition to comment on all this as anyone, having spent 15 to 20 hours a day for 15 years as an “internet addict,” working on various websites I have owned, and with ten years of college in the hard sciences. All About My Favorite Linux OS, Ubuntu MATE 20.04 (Updated)

REVISED & UPDATED: I am coming to absolutely love the many (well over 200) Linux operating systems, how you can experiment and tinker around with some “likely” Linux OS, until you find your own favorite. Then, you can tailor it, without much tecnical knowledge, until you get one to fully suit your own needs. 3.6 percent of all computer’s OS now run off Linux, as does the GoDaddy server which puts my own site out to the world. And it’s absolutely true that ALL of the world’s 500 largest supercomputers run some kind of Linux OS. Google is going to soon use Debian Linux. My own favorite has turned out to be Ubuntu MATE 20.04 LTS (officially supported for three years, link to download included). Right now I am testing the now available daily build of Ubuntu 20.10, “Groovy Gorilla.” All varieties of Ubuntu (there are several) were officially released on April 23rd, and now you can test the daily build of Ubuntu 20.10. With numerous links and ideas for you. Read More …
