documentary with LOTS of great music
The Daily Walk with Love, January 25, 2018, by Paul Evans, (email email@example.com), video playlist is courtesy of Catarina Troiano and YouTube — 57:30. Documents a concert Clapton and his first band, “Blind Faith,” which drew over 100,000 enthusiastic fans in Hyde Park (which could mean London, New York, or several other locations.) Hopefully this will be the first of many Eric Clapton posts, should I live so long…. Featured photograph of a seagull sitting on a “no seagulls” sign is courtesy of Yachtpals.com (think “existential absurdity”).

Blind Faith was a lone album (Wikipedia article) performed by a group of the same name, which featured both Eric Claption and Steve Winwood, plus Ginger Baker on percussion, and so attracted a lot of attention. It peaked at “No. 40 on the Billboard Soul Albums chart, an unusual achievement for an English rock quartet. It has been certified platinum by the RIAA. In addition, Rolling Stone (which is taken as gospel among most rock music fans), published three reviews of the album in their 6 September 1969 issue, which were written by Ed Leimbacher, Lester Bangs, and John Morthland.” I definitely would describe this music as more of a “blues-rock” sound, rather than a pure classic rock. Today’s video is a wonderful perfomance by them in Hyde Park (London?). Apple Music describes them as the world’s first rock “supergroup.” You can purchase this wonderful album either at Amazon.com or Apple music, but today we are presenting you with a really hot performance by Blind Faith from 1969. I am very grateful to YouTube for allowing it to be up on my site and for allowing me to republish all this great music. God Bless you folks!
“Blind Faith” trivia: According to Wikipeda, “blind faith” is actually also a term used in computer programming which is described as “blind programming, blind coding, God-oriented programming, or divine orientation.” The opposite is “test-oriented development.” Sort of like talking openly and out loud to your computer, knowing NSA, CIA and probably my shrink (and others) are listening, without regard for the (very real) consequences…. (I assure you, I am just making a joke, people, right (?), don’t kill me, as my dad used to say, I am more to be pitied than censured….) And anyway, I am in favor of the surveillance capabilities of the government, feeling that the United States has many enemies who wish to destroy America, and so we absolutely need our surveillance capabilites. “Blind faith” is also the title of songs by the groups Poison, Dream Theater, The Levellers and Quiet Riot.
A propos of nothing in particular, if you want to “get in my head,” please see a page of Quotable Quotes by Paul Evans, from which: “My psychiatrist Vera, appreciates me as a ‘sapiosexual’ man (she’s married, and I am gonna get i trouble for this lol). This is me: I’m analyzing and thinking about everything all the time. She’s like that too. And she never once gives out a sign that she is doing anything in our conversation other than ‘musing’ about it, usually in stony silence. Most psychiatrists do that, they get you spilling your guts that way, by their silence, but she is especially good at it. That sort of thing always pisses me off a little. At least she never used that famous psychiatrist’s ploy, ‘How does that make you feel?’ That’s probably only because I hit her with it first, lol. A Ukrainian and a psychiatrist who’s probably into a lot of different “stuff”: but she tries really, really hard and I am very lucky to know her. Watch Men at Work – Down Under “you better run, you better take cover…” (In a sense, this is me having “blind faith” in you, Vera.)
Men, don’t say I didn’t warn you – Paul Evans: “There are those species of spiders where after the mating, the female devours the male. With humans it takes a little longer.”
